Learn More About the Wellness and Fitness Curriculum
Course Objective:
This fitness component of this course is designed to acquaint students with the benefits of physical activity in their lives. This course will include fitness components such as; cardiorespiratory endurance, strength and conditioning, weight training, flexibility, body composition, and various technology based exercises. This course will include fitness testing, development of a personal training program, and much more.The wellness portion of the course will be based on the components of health: Mental, social, and emotional health, relationships, violence, nutrition, anatomy, first aid, community health, human sexuality, disease, tobacco and alcohol, and legal/ illegal drugs. Students are exposed to a variety of lifetime activities that promote health and well-being.
This course is required for graduation.
