Learn More About Carpentry Level 2 and 3

In the Carpentry Program the emphasis is on residential construction.  Students learn how the building industry works, what its standards are, and the necessity to function as a team with other workers to complete a construction project on time and at cost.
Students receive hundreds of hours of construction instruction to help them master the many skills associated with becoming a carpenter.  Framing the Roof alone requires students to interpret and estimate roof framing materials; lay out and cut ridge board and rafters; assemble a gable roof, gable end and overhang; lay- out and cut/install sub-fascia; frame roof openings, dormers, saddles; lay out and cut hip/hip jack rafters; layout and cut valley/valley jack rafters; lay out/install and brace roof trusses; layout/cut/ and install reverse gables and collar ties.

Students in LCTI’s Carpentry Program have the advantage of working on a two-year house project where all the skills they learn in class are apply to building a home.
