Learn More About the Social Studies Curriculum

 

American History I - students will study American History to 1900 including a basic study of Pennsylvania History.  Topics include: Revolutionary War, Forming our System of Government, Westward Expansion, Northern and Southern American Economies, The Civil War and Reconstruction.

              

American History II – students will study American History from 1900 to present.  Topics include: Big Business, Progressive Movement, WWI, The Great Depression, WWII, Holocaust, Cold War, Civil Rights Movement and Vietnam.

 

Government/Economics – students will study United States government for one-half of a year and the latter half students will study basic economic concepts.  Topics include: Governmental Branches,  Bill Becomes a Law, Bill of Rights, and Local Government.  Economics includes: Economic Systems, Global Studies, Supply and Demand, Entrpreneurship, Market Structure, Money and Banking.
