Welcome to Auto Technology Level 1!

This first level course in Auto Technology is an introduction into the automotive program. It begins with identifying automotive careers and the expectations employers will have for the student when entering the workforce. The student will learn to use and become proficient with all automotive shop equipment and tools.  This course will also focus on vehicle maintenance of all passenger cars and light trucks. The next and final stage of the course will be the comprehensive study of all automotive systems. Upon completion of level one the student will have solid understanding of automotive technology and be prepared to enter levels 2 and 3.

If you are interested in cars and want to repair high tech vehicles, take a closer look at LCTI’s Auto Technology Program. This program, certified by Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), is designed for students who would like to work in the automotive service industry.

While you’re in 10^th grade, sample the program before moving on the 11^th and 12^th grades. If you enroll in the program, you will learn about performance, computer electronics, engine and chassis diagnoses and repair. In the summer before your senior year, your can participate in the Internship Program and work with a professional who’s already experienced in the field.

As with all programs offered by LCTI, the program instructors provide you with an excellent foundation for continuing your education at a college, university or specialty school.
