SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. | That’s a wrap on Camp LCTI 2017! It was a fantastic two weeks of career exploration fueled by fun, STEAM activities.
We welcomed more than 200 campers to 16 camp classes this summer and, for the first time, joined the Maker Camp network, a virtual summer camp community.
Campers in our Super Sleuths class explored the role forensic science plays in criminal justice as they practiced analyzing fingerprints and other evidence. Meanwhile, it was all about computer science in LCTI’s Code Name: Gamer class as campers learned to code video games and more.
Campers in our Busy Bots class explored engineering by building bristlebots, drawbots and wobblebots while strengthening their teamwork and troubleshooting skills. Engineering was the underlying focus of LCTI’s Energy Explorers class, as well; campers built miniature oil wells and solar cars as they learned about how energy powers our world.
In our Freeze Frame class, campers learned how technology can lend itself to artistry as they experimented with light painting and other photography techniques. LCTI’s 3D Discovery and Decor-Great classes also offered the two-fold focus of technology and the arts as campers used drafting software to design their dream homes and more.
