Program Safety & Physical Considerations

• High degree of self-discipline and focus needed in the program and profession
• Must have strength and physical stamina and have the ability to participate in physical training
• Must have trunk strength (ability to use abdominal and lower back to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without fatigue)
• Ability to diagnose the source of a problem quickly and accurately and apply problem solving skills
• Requires long periods of intense concentration
• Must have good conflict resolution skills and an even temperament (not prone to aggressive behavior)
• Ability to work under pressure/in adverse conditions/ within time constraints
• Clean criminal background check
• Good physical health and neat appearance
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Reading & Language Arts Levels

• College Prep Reading and Language Arts
• Text and manuals written on a 12th grade reading level
• Understand written sentences and paragraphs and work related documents
• Excellent written (especially note taking and reports) and verbal communication skills (public speaking)
• Legible writing
• Oral expression and comprehension
• Active listening skills

Math Level

• Basic Math skills
• College Prep Algebra and Geometry
• Strong measurement and estimation skills

End of Year – 12th Grade Assessment Test

Industry Certifications

• Students will have the opportunity to earn industry certifications in the program
