LCTI celebrates Emerging Health Professionals program grads

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute on Tuesday celebrated seniors who completed the Emerging Health Professionals program.

Forty-nine seniors from nine Lehigh County high schools wrapped up the prestigious year-long program this May. The program exposes students to career and technical education and allows them to shadow health care professionals while they earn credits from either Lehigh Carbon Community College or Penn State Lehigh Valley. LCTI partners with Lehigh Valley Health Network, Country Meadows Retirement Communities and St. Luke’s University Health Network to provide students with clinical training opportunities.

During the ceremony at LCCC’s Community Services Center, Gregory Kunkle, a 2011 Emerging Health Professionals graduate who is now a first-year medical student, spoke about how the program prepared him for success at Drexel University College of Medicine.
