LCTI students tour, train at Cetronia Ambulance Corps facility

Students from LCTI’s Emerging Health Professionals program recently visited Cetronia Ambulance Corps.

S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. | Students in LCTI’s Emerging Health Professionals program on Friday (Oct. 20) visited Cetronia Ambulance Corps, which is a newly accredited Pennsylvania Department of Health EMS Education Institute.

In addition to touring the ambulance corps’ South Whitehall Township facility, students participated in #StopTheBleed training. Launched in 2015 by the White House, Stop the Bleed is a national campaign aimed at equipping bystanders with the knowledge and skill they need to help in a bleeding emergency before professional help arrives.

The campaign has come to the fore again following a deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas on Oct. 1. Among other things, students learned to apply pressure, apply a dressing with pressure and apply a tourniquet to an injured person.
