Three LCTI students win regional art awards

Three Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students won Silver Key awards this month for their submissions in a regional art contest.

Janus Polanco, a William Allen High School junior in LCTI’s Advertising Design/Commercial Art program, earned a Silver Key award for his mixed media artwork titled “Equation for Peace.”

Hannah Wanko, a Parkland High School senior in LCTI’s Commercial Photography/Electronic Imaging program, earned a Silver Key award for her photograph titled “Elephant Ear Leaf.” She also received an honorable mention for her photograph titled “Leaf.”

Danielle DeLong, a Northern Lehigh High School senior also in LCTI’s Commercial Photography program, earned a Silver Key award for her photograph titled “Welder.”

Polanco, Wanko and DeLong were honored Saturday, March 16 during the East Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards ceremony at Kutztown University’s Schaeffer Auditorium.

The East Central Pennsylvania Scholastic Art Awards is the region’s most prestigious visual arts competition. The region includes Berks, Carbon, Lehigh and Northampton counties.
