SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. | Automobile aficionados from across the region descended Saturday on Lehigh Career & Technical Institute for the school’s Car Show.

The event, in its third year, doubles as a fundraiser for LCTI’s career and technical student organizations, which sell refreshments or merchandise and hold auctions or raffles during the daylong event.

This year, students from the Heavy Equipment Operations & Preventive Maintenance program demonstrated what they’ve learned in class, students from the Auto Technology program organized children’s games and members of a local fire company demonstrated an overturned vehicle rescue.

The Car Show winners are:

  • Staff Choice: Cameron Smith, 1946 Chrysler Windsor

  • Popular Choice: Scott Nichol, 2008 Porsche Boxster RS60

  • Participate Choice: Joe Curran Sr., 1969 Black Olds 442 convertible

In addition to bragging rights, Smith, Nichol and Curran took home swag bags packed with LCTI goodies and unique trophies created by the school’s Precision Machine Tool Technology students.
