The Emerging Engineering Professionals Program provides high school seniors with the opportunity to experience a variety of engineering careers in a classroom and business setting and take Penn State or Lehigh Carbon Community College math and/or engineering courses for college credit. Students spend three days a week in a state-of-the-art pre-engineering lab exploring different engineering fields for the first and third marking periods, and job shadow at local engineering firms the second and fourth marking periods. Students attend Penn State or Lehigh Carbon Community college 2 days a week for the entire school year.
The job shadow portion of this program will allow students to observe and participate in a variety of engineering areas.
The solid foundation this program provides will assist the Emerging Engineering Professionals students who wish to pursue further education and professional careers as an engineer or engineering technician.
This program is available to seniors only and requires an application evaluation and committee review.
