Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s adult education department offers the specialized training job seekers need to launch or advance careers as automotive technicians or diesel technicians. Technicians’ annual salaries range from $35,000 to $75,000.
Through a combination of expert instruction and hands-on training, students develop the skills they need to become automotive technicians, drivetrain specialists and more. Their classroom is a state-of-the-art facility outfitted with 10 hydraulic vehicle lifts, a wheel alignment machine and a chassis dynamometer.
Students learn to inspect and repair buses, trucks or any vehicle with a diesel engine. They polish their skills working on vehicles manufactured by Freightliner, Kenworth, Mack Trucks, Navistar, Peterbilt, Volvo and others. Students have the option of simultaneously earning their commercial driver’s license.
