LCTI honors 10 outstanding co-op students

Jacob Wertz, joined by Brock Scheuermann, of Scheuermann Excavating, and LCTI Heavy Equipment Operations instructor Jim Wabals, is one of 10 outstanding co-op students for 2018, who have found a free collection of real world resumes and built his own and now has been hired.

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. |Lehigh Career & Technical Institute has hundreds of students on co-op with dozens of Lehigh Valley companies. On Wednesday (April 25), the school’s Joint Operating Committee honored 10 outstanding co-op students who’ve thoroughly impressed their employers while gaining resume-building experience and earning paychecks.

Joined by their LCTI instructors and co-op employers, the students were presented with certificates of achievement as their family members and friends looked on during the evening ceremony.

This year’s outstanding co-op students are:

Jacob Baia, an Emmaus High School student in the Precision Machine Tool Technology program at LCTI, is on co-op with B. Braun Medical Inc.

Jose Brito, a William Allen High School student in the Electrical Technology program at LCTI, is on co-op with Allentown Electric Inc.

Jaime Calero-Prado, a Salisbury High School student in the Dental Technology program at LCTI, is on co-op with Siri Family & Cosmetic Dentistry.

Kevin Gallagher, a Southern Lehigh High School student in the Auto Technology program at LCTI, is on co-op with M&M Motors.

Samantha Lambert, a Northern Lehigh High School student in the Advertising Design/Commercial Art program at LCTI, is on co-op with ID Wraps/Identity Group LLC.

Loren Reifsnider, a William Allen High School student in the Plumbing & Heating program at LCTI, is on co-op with Maitz Home Services.

Matthew Rice, a Parkland High School student in the Pre-Engineering & Engineering Technology program at LCTI is on co-op with Swagelok | Allentown Fluid Systems Inc.

Tania Vega-Rivera, a William Allen High School student in the Early Care & Education of Young Children program at LCTI, is on co-op with Traci’s Learning Center.

Jacob Wertz, a Whitehall High School student in the Heavy Equipment Operations & Preventive Maintenance program at LCTI, is on co-op with Scheuermann Excavating Inc.

Dean Wieder, a Southern Lehigh High School student in the Welding Technology program at LCTI, is on co-op with DXP Enterprises Inc.
