Who are you and what’s your role at LCTI?

My name is Ms. Keck and I’m a Cosmetology teacher at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute.

I have my cosmetology license and a cosmetology teacher certification, as well as a bachelor’s degree in fashion merchandising and small business management and a master’s degree in education. I also have certifications in the following areas:

What’s your professional background?

Like my students, I am a product of a technical high school and have 14-plus years experience in the cosmetology industry. I have worked in various salons and was a district sales manager for Farouk Systems. In addition to teaching at LCTI, I am an educator for Farouk Systems. Working for Farouk Systems for the past 14 years (the makers of CHI and Biosilk hair products) has given me the opportunity to travel the country educating salons and sales representatives, I have done hair for CHI at QVC and was in a Biosilk commercial in Asia.

What’s your claim to fame?

I have always worked in the cosmetology industry in one way or another, but after I graduated college I was a manager for a Japanese retail company where I trained and lived in Japan for a few months! Since then, I’ve traveled across the world to various countries just for fun! I love learning, experiencing new things and traveling.

What do you love about working at LCTI?

I love watching my students grow into amazing young stylists, stepping outside of their comfort zone and being creative!
