Tucker Jayne, center, placed second in the welding contest at SkillsUSA states.

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s Tucker Jayne finished in second place this week at the Pennsylvania SkillsUSA welding competition.

The Southern Lehigh High School senior and students from across the commonwealth traveled to Williamsport, Pa., for the state contest held Monday and Tuesday (March 9-10) at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Tucker, who studies Welding Technology at LCTI, qualified for the event with a gold-medal-winning performance at the SkillsUSA Council District 11 Championships.
