SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. | Thanks to a Gene Haas Foundation grant, paying for college just got a little bit easier for some of Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s students.
The $25,000 grant will be used to create a scholarship fund for college-bound seniors in LCTI’s Precision Machine Tool Technology program. Haas Factory Outlet President Edward T. Kilgallon visited the school Thursday (Jan. 12) to present the grant check to program instructors Robert Heffentrager and John Jacobs.
Also on hand for the check presentation were LCTI Executive Director Tim Rushton, Director of Career & Technical Education Kurt Adam, Director of Postsecondary & Workforce Education Jan Brna, Supervisor of Career & Technical Education Rita Tatusko and Supervisor of Career & Technical Education Darin VanNorman.
Founded in 1999 by Gene Haas, of Haas Automation Inc., the foundation is committed to closing the skills gap in U.S. manufacturing by funding scholarships for CNC machinist training and related educational pursuits. Haas Automation Inc. is an American machine tool builder headquartered in Oxnard, Calif.
