Animal Sciences Application

Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s Animal Sciences program is currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 school year. The submission deadline for applications has been extended to Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023. Thoroughly review the materials in Parts 1 and 2 before beginning the Animal Sciences program online application in Part 3.
Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s Animal Sciences program is a perfect fit for rising high school seniors who plan to pursue careers centered around the care and treatment of animals.
Made possible by the partnership of LCTI, Lehigh Valley Zoo, Macungie Animal Hospital and Lehigh Carbon Community College, this intensive, dual-enrollment program is designed to give students a head start on college and expose them to a variety of professions in animal sciences and veterinary medicine through job shadows, hands-on training and clinical study at facilities across the region.
Students who wish to apply for admission to the Animal Sciences program must:

Reside in a Lehigh County school district

Be entering their senior year of high school

Have a grade-point average of 2.5 or better

Have completed biology with a grade of C or better

Have completed math courses through geometry with a grade of C or better

Have a written recommendation from their high school guidance counselor or teacher

Meet academic prerequisites for Lehigh Carbon Community College

Students who wish to apply for the Animal Sciences program should:
2. Tell their school counselor that they intend to apply for the Animal Sciences program.
4. Print the Animal Sciences program signature form and complete Page 1 before giving it to your school counselor, who must complete Page 2.
Remember, the online application must be submitted on or before the extended deadline of Thursday, Feb. 16.
