Auto Technology students win college scholarships

Two Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students earned college scholarships Feb. 12 after finishing in second place at a regional auto technician competition.

Along with an impressive trophy, teammates Colin Panko and Michael Shook each walked away from the Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association event with a $2,000 scholarship for the Auto Technology program at Northampton Community College. They competed against students from area high schools in Pennsylvania and New Jersey in the annual contest.

Colin is an Emmaus High School senior in the Auto Technology program and Academic Center at LCTI. He’s participating in cooperative education this year and works for Scott Mazda.

Michael is a senior from Northwestern Lehigh High School who is in the Auto Technology program, as well. He’s working for Scott Chevrolet through LCTI’s cooperative education program.
