LCTI students compete, win at SkillsUSA competition

ALLENTOWN, Pa. | Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students racked up three dozen top-three finishes Thursday (Jan. 26, 2023) at the annual SkillsUSA District 11 Championships.

In its 37th year, the event drew hundreds of competitors from Bucks, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton County career and technical schools to the Allentown Fairgrounds’ Agri-Plex. Students participated in individual and team contests of technical knowledge and know-how that covered everything from cybersecurity to masonry.

All of the first-place finishers, including 12 from LCTI, qualified to compete April 12-14 at the SkillsUSA state championships in Hershey. Students who placed among the top threewere honored Monday during a virtual ceremony hosted by SkillsUSA Council Executive Director Andy Hammer.
