LCTI to provide laptops for some Allentown students

LCTI is distributing laptops to select students from the Allentown School District.

Dear students and parents/guardians,

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation during this challenging time. Parent/guardian support is critical as our students adapt to new methods of academic and technical learning.

Schoology, a web-based learning management system, is central to Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s eLearning plan. We use Schoology to deliver instruction and assignments to our students remotely. In order to facilitate LCTI’s eLearning plan, we’re providing our Allentown School District students with Chromebooks. Students eligible to receive the laptops will be notified with a phone call and/or email message.

LCTI staff is working closely with ASD staff to distribute the Chromebooks to ASD-LCTI students. The dates, times and locations for distribution are as follows:

Louis E. Dieruff High School students

LCTI staff will be distributing Chromebooks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, April 24 in the Dieruff High School back gym parking lot, 815 N Irving St, Allentown, PA, 18109. Please review these Chromebook pickup instructions for Dieruff students.

William Allen High School students

LCTI staff will be distributing Chromebooks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market parking lot, 1825 Chew Street, Allentown, PA, 18104. Please review these Chromebook pickup instructions for Allen students.

Students or parent/guardians should bring their LCTI identification card, their high school identification card or another form of state/federal identification to the Chromebook distribution site. By accepting the Chromebooks, students and/or their parent/guardians agree to the information outlined in this consent form.

Students and/or parents/guardians must return Chromebooks in the same condition they were received before the 2019-2020 school year ends. Additional information about the Chromebook return process will be provided at a later date.

Participation in LCTI’s eLearning plan is critical for our students’ continued success. We at LCTI are committed to supporting students as the learn and grow.

Sincerely,

The LCTI Administration
