Who are you and what’s your role at LCTI?

My name is Ms. Heineman and I’m the Mechatronics teacher at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute.

What’s your educational background?

I have bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering, both from Penn State, and a master’s degree in secondary education from Kutztown University.

What’s your professional background?

I spent even years as a product engineer for Chrysler, seven years as a product engineer for Mack Trucks and five years as a project engineer for FLSmidth before joining LCTI’s faculty.

What’s your claim to fame?

  • I love singing in choirs.
  • I tested cars in northern Michigan in the winter and Death Valley in the summer.
  • I worked on the first satellite radio and hands free phone systems in Chrysler vehicles.

What do you love about working at LCTI?

I love teaching students about options for their futures and helping them take steps to achieve them.
