More than 100 LCTI students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Dozens of of Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students were inducted into the National Technical Honor Society on Tuesday (Dec. 17, 2024) at Lehigh Carbon Community College. The prestigious society welcomed 118 new members during the ceremony at LCCC’s Berrier Hall.

Membership in the honor society is highly competitive. Students must maintain a grade average of 90 percent or better to be considered for induction.

Hundreds of the inductees’ family members and friends were on hand for the event, which featured remarks from Kerri Green,  director of healthcare career development for Lehigh Valley Health Network, and LCTI Executive Director Lisa Greenawalt. NTHS officers Adrian Stone, Dianirys Lopez Colon and Sofia Recio explained the honor society’s purpose and other previously inducted members participated in a candle lighting. In addition to LCTI students, the honor society welcomed an honorary member: state Rep. Peter Schweyer, who represents Pennsylvania’s 134th district.

Greenawalt said, “Representative Schweyer knows the value of a good, Pennsylvania education and how our students can use what they learn at LCTI, LCCC, and other schools across the commonwealth to shape and uplift the Lehigh Valley, just like he has over the years.”
