Scholarship Opportunities

graduation mortar boardLehigh Career & Technical Institute students are eligible for a host of scholarships and grants funded by organizations and businesses that support career and technical education (CTE), as well as individuals who hail from the Lehigh Valley or Pennsylvania.

These scholarships vary from hundreds to thousands of dollars and are awarded based on a student’s merit, need, area of study, competition performance and other criteria. Scroll down to view the scholarships, which are listed in alphabetical order.

AAA Safety Patrol Scholarship Award

AAA East Central – East Penn Region offers scholarships for college-bound high school students who participated in their elementary school’s AAA Safety Patrol program.

Air Products Women of Gases & Welding Scholarship

The Air Products Women of Gases & Welding Scholarship totals $2,500 and is awarded annually to a female student pursuing a degree in a welding or welding-related educational program.

Allentown West Rotary Club Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Allentown West is awarding college scholarships of $1,000 to two students from each of the following schools: Lehigh Career & Technical Institute, Northwestern Lehigh High School and Parkland High School.

Arbor Insurance Group Scholarship Award

The Arbor Insurance Group Scholarship Award was established for deserving students who are currently enrolled as a high school junior or senior in the Lehigh Valley. The $1,500 scholarship can be used towards future higher-education-related costs and will be payable to both the student and the school of their choice.

Automotive Aftermarket Scholarships

The Global Automotive Aftermarket Symposium and more than 30 additional organizations award scholarships for students training to become automotive, heavy duty or collision repair technicians, and to students in business, marketing, engineering, or other major courses of study.

Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation Scholarships

The AWAF strives to motivate current and future students studying an automotive-related field. Scholarships are awarded to female, North American citizens with a passion for a career or advancement in the automotive and its related industries.

Da Vinci Science Center Student Excellence Award

The Da Vinci Science Center seeks spectacular high school science students in the eastern Pennsylvania and western New Jersey region to apply now for one of the center’s four prestigious Hall of Fame Student Excellence Awards.

eGFI Engineering Scholarships

Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania Scholarships

The club awards scholarships to students who reside in Pennsylvania and plan to further their education in agriculture education, agronomy, floriculture, horticulture, landscape architecture, botany, biology (excluding medical), conservation, environmental concerns (management: environmental engineering, conservation, etc.) forestry, plant pathology, city (rural/urban) planning, wildlife science, land management, and/or allied subjects.

Gerald M. Monahan Sr. Memorial Scholarship

Administered by the Allentown Police Athletic League and named for an Allentown police chief, the Gerald M. Monahan Sr. Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to students who are preparing for a career in criminal justice.

Global Lift Equipment Scholarship

Global Lift Equipment, a supplier of pre-owned equipment each year offers a $500 scholarship to current college students or college-bound high school seniors who meet eligibility requirements and write a short story featuring equipment in the company’s inventory.

Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of CSI Scholarship

The Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute Scholarship is a $1,500 award presented annually to two college-bound high school seniors intent majoring in architecture, engineering, interior design, facility management and construction management.

Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors Scholarship

The Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors® Diversity & Community Involvement Committee is offering a scholarship to one high school student within GLVR’s three-county footprint to attend the Greater Lehigh Valley Real Estate Academy. The scholarship is available to students currently in their junior year who are scheduled to graduate with the Class of 2020. Scholarship applications can be mailed to Matthew Marks, Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors, 10 S. Commerce Way, Bethlehem, PA 18017 or emailed to matthew@glvr.org.

Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

The Greater Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Foundation was created to serve college-bound students from Lehigh Career & Technical Institute and four other Lehigh Valley high schools. In order to be considered for the $500 scholarship, applicants must complete the application, be a graduating senior, maintain a grade average of C or better, have a clean school record with no disciplinary infractions and participate in extracurricular activities, work and/or volunteer. Applicants must also plan to use the scholarship to continue their education with a business-related major or to transition into a career requiring business supplies.

Hermine Solt Student Scholarship

The Pennsylvania Association of Educational Office Professionals Student Scholarship Fund was established in 1992 for the purpose of helping students in the commonwealth pursue higher education in a business-related field.

James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program

Latino Leadership Alliance of the Lehigh Valley Nuestro Futuro Scholarship Program

The Nuestro Futuro Scholarship Program awards one or more $500 college scholarships annually. Eligible students must be of Latino background, residents of Lehigh or Northampton counties and pursuing a degree at an accredited, postsecondary institution.

LCCC Promise Scholarship Program

The LCCC Promise Scholarship Program assists Lehigh County recent high school graduates from a sponsoring school district or students who attended Lehigh Career and Technical Institute who enroll at Lehigh Carbon Community College.

The Scholarship Value is up to full-time sponsored tuition and fees, less Federal Pell grant funding, plus a $500 per semester books and supplies allowance for Federal Pell Grant recipients.

Lehigh County School Nurses Advisory Board

The Lehigh County School Nurses Advisory Board is awarding three $1,000 scholarships to Lehigh County high school seniors who’ve been accepted into a nursing program at a postsecondary institution.

Nicholas A. Stangil Memorial Scholarship

The Lehigh Valley section of the International Society of Automation is offering two to three $500 scholarships for high school students planning to pursue careers in automation-related fields. The scholarship application deadline is March 31, 2022.

PBFAA/ESA Youth Scholarship Program

The Pennsylvania Burglar and Fire Alarm Association/Electronic Security Association Youth Scholarship Program and is designed to recognize the achievement of worthwhile students who are children of active duty law enforcement and fire service personnel.

Pennsylvania American Legion Scholarships

The Pennsylvania American Legion offers several scholarships for exceptional students who are the children of current service members or veterans.

Pennsylvania Automotive Association Automotive Technology Scholarships

The Pennsylvania Automotive Association, through a fund within the PAA Foundation, awards scholarships to young people to develop the skills necessary to work as a technician in the new retail motor vehicle industry in Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania House of Representatives Scholarship

Scholarship applicants must be graduating seniors and legal residents of Pennsylvania with a minimum GPA of 3.0 who are planning to attend any four-year college in Pennsylvania and demonstrating leadership and community service.

Pennsylvania Restaurant Association Educational Foundation Scholarship Program

The PRAEF Scholarship Program each year provides Pennsylvania students with the opportunity to further their education in the hospitality industry. Since the program’s inception in 2006, the PRAEF has awarded more than $125,600 in scholarship money.

Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers Scholarship

The Pennsylvania Engineering Foundation administers scholarships for qualified undergraduate engineering students.

PPL Powerful Tech and Trade Scholarship

As an energy company, PPL places a high value on skilled trades workers. The Powerful Tech and Trade scholarship totals $2,500. Ten scholarships are awarded annually to minority and female students entering any year of full-time, postsecondary career training at a community college or technical school in PPL’s Pennsylvania service territory.

Lisa Jane Schellar Technology Scholarships

Offered through Lehigh Carbon Community College, Lisa Jane Schellar Technology Scholarships cover up to 75 percent of students’ tuition and fees over two years. Students must complete a program of study at LCTI or Carbon Career & Technical Institute with a 3.0 GPA in order to be eligible.

SME Education Foundation Scholarships

The SME Education Foundation supports the new faces of manufacturing by providing scholarships. The foundation’s programs have encouraged more than 60,000 students to study STEM, with a focus on technology.

Thomas W. O’Brien Memorial Scholarship

Established by the friends and colleagues of the late Thomas W. O’Brien in partnership with the PA Association for Career and Technical Education, the scholarship is awarded annually to a student enrolled in an approved secondary CTE program in Pennsylvania and planning to attend a post-secondary institution majoring in a CTE field.

Upper Lehigh Lions Club Scholarship

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club offers a $1,000 scholarship to eligible Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students.

Wheels of Time Street Rod Association Scholarship

In the interest of furthering the sport and hobby of street rodding, The Wheels of Time SRA is awarding one or more scholarships of $750 per semester to students who intend to further their education in the field of auto body repair or auto mechanics.

Women Chefs & Restaurateurs Scholarship & Internship Program

Women’s Industry Network High School Student Scholarship

The High School Tuition Scholarship is presented to students enrolled in a secondary collision repair technology program who plan to continue their education at a technical school or college. Five winners selected for application competitiveness and completion of the scholarship criteria will each receive $1,000 and one-year WIN membership.
