PHILADELPHIA — Lehigh Career & Technical Institute teacher Michaelina Greenawalt was honored Thursday (Aug. 15, 2024) with Thomas Jefferson University’s Centennial Educator Award.
Finneas Santoro, an alumnus of LCTI’s Health & Medical Sciences program in the William Allen High School Class of 2024, nominated Greenawalt for the award. Santoro is a first-year student at Jefferson.
The Centennial Educator Award was created in 1984 to celebrate Jefferson Unversity East Falls’ 100th anniversary. It honors prominent individuals in education, government, science or civic life. Incoming students were asked to nominate “a teacher, professor, counselor, principal or anyone involved in your education who helped you develop to your potential, challenged you and supported you in the pursuit of your goals and helped you focus on your dreams.”
Greenawalt, a Health & Medical Sciences teacher and HOSA adviser at LCTI, was one of three award winners celebrated at the university’s East Falls campus convocation ceremony. Santoro joined her for the special event.
Congratulations to Dr. Greenawalt, Centennial Educator Award winner!
