ALLENTOWN, Pa. — The Academic Center is Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s full-day option for students who want to integrate academic studies with their career and technical training.
One of this year’s two Outstanding Academic Center Senior Award winners is Carter Campbell, a Parkland High School student in LCTI’s Supply Chain Management & Logistics Technology program. Academic Center Principal Michael Strohl honored Carter on Thursday (May 28, 2026) at PPL Center during the school’s annual Senior Recognition Night. The prestigious, schoolwide award was one of five presented at the ceremony. Academic Center Social Studies teacher James Dawson joined Carter on stage for the award presentation.
Learning support teacher Chris Grammes described him as a responsible, respectful student who doesn’t hesitate to help his Academic Center peers when they are struggling academically or socially.
“He strives to make the people around him feel good about themselves,” Grammes said. “I truly could go on and on about Carter’s positive impact on LCTI. He’s a success story in the making!”
The 18-year-old Upper Macungie Township resident also excelled in his career and technical education program, winning the Outstanding Senior Award and earning a Pennsylvania Skills Certificate for scoring advanced on the NOCTI exam.
Mr. Strohl said Carter showed up to class each day with positive energy, which adds to the Academic Center’s sense of community. He added that Carter helped make our learning environment fun and welcoming.
LCTI’s Outstanding Academic Center Senior Award is presented annually to two full-day seniors who perform at a high academic level and demonstrate the ability to build relationships with their peers and staff while consistently exhibiting professionalism and leadership in the Academic Center.
Congratulations, Carter! This is how we achieve! #weachieve
