Lehigh Career & Technical Institute alumna Daphne Ziegenfus will be back in the spotlight next month thanks to a webinar also featuring her former teacher, Ken Midgett.
Association for Career & Technical Education and Interplay Learning are teaming up to host the Feb. 13 webinar titled “Bridging the Gap: Harnessing 3D Simulations to Improve Student Success.”
Former U.S. Department of Labor Chief Innovation Officer Chike Aguh is slated to join Ziegenfus and Midgett for a talk on how 3D simulation activities in CTE programs boost classroom engagement, provide real-world experiences, and, ultimately, improve student outcomes.
Ziegenfus, a Salisbury High School graduate who completed the Plumbing & Heating program at LCTI in 2021, was profiled in a December episode of the Pfister Faucets YouTube series, “American Plumber Stories.” Midgett, a beloved instructor nicknamed “Coach” during his LCTI tenure, also appeared in the episode.
These days, Ziegenfus is a plumbing technician for Bethlehem-based Deluxe Plumbing & Heating and Coach is a market director for Interplay Learning, a Texas-based company that provides online and VR training tools for skilled trades.
ACTE is a national organization that represents thousands of career and technical education professionals. Aguh currently serves as a senior advisor for the Project on Workforce at Harvard University.
