Class of 2024: Allen senior wins Academic Center award

Congratulations, schoolwide award winner Jessica Dutan!

ALLENTOWN, Pa. | The Academic Center is Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s full-day option for students who want to integrate academic studies with their career and technical training.

One of this year’s two Outstanding Academic Center Senior Award winners is Jessica Dutan, a William Allen High School student in LCTI’s Marketing & Entrepreneurship program. Academic Center Assistant Principal Jamie Carr honored Jessica on Wednesday (May 29, 2024) at PPL Center during the school’s Class of 2024 Senior Recognition Night. The prestigious, schoolwide award was one of six presented at the ceremony.

Ms. Carr said Jessica “shows up to class each day with positive energy that adds to the Academic Center sense of community. She helps make our learning environment fun and welcoming. We’re going to miss having her with us.”

Jessica plans to intern for state Rep. Peter Schweyer this summer and begin study business at Moravian University this fall. Her ultimate career goal is to become a management analyst.

The Lehigh Career & Technical Institute Outstanding Academic Center Senior Award is presented annually to two full-day seniors who perform at a high academic level and demonstrate the ability to build relationships with their peers and staff while consistently exhibiting professionalism and leadership in the Academic Center.
