Program Safety & Physical Considerations

• Ability for prolonged standing, bending, stooping, walking, running, and sitting on the floor and in a child-sized chair
• Normal physical health and personal cleanliness important
• Ability to negotiate the classroom environment
• Ability to sit in close proximity to children
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Ability to work with young children’s bodily fluids and the exposure to possible diseases
• Ability to use tools of the trade (computers, scanners, copiers, curricular guides, and maps, etc.)

• Visual and auditory acuity for classroom observation and management
• Clerical perception
• Color discrimination
• Finger and manual dexterity
• Motor coordination

Reading & Language Arts Levels

• College Prep Reading and Language Arts
• Oral and written communication skills
• Technical writing skills

Math Level

• Basic math skills
• Ability to use numerical data (count, measure, compute, calculate fractions, ratios, whole numbers, formulas)

End of Year – 12th Grade Assessment Test

• Students will have the opportunity to earn industry certifications in the program

Cooperative Education

• Students who meet all the requirements, including teacher recommendation, grades, attendance, and discipline record
• Students must provide their own transportation to and from the job site
