- Self-discipline and focus are needed for safety using blow torches, welding equipment, hand tools, power tools, and other equipment found in the industry
- Exposure to noise levels, dust, debris, and fumes associated with the welding profession
- Ability to have tolerance for working in hot environment and in small spaces
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Stamina to stand for long periods of time
- Physical strength and trunk strength
- Requires long periods of intense concentration
- Inherently dangerous at all times

Cooperative Education
- Students who meet all the requirements, including teacher recommendation, grades, attendance, and discipline record
- Student must provide their own transportation to and from the job site
