Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s FFA members took a field trip to the Great Allentown Fair on Thursday, Sept. 3

ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Members of Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s FFA chapter earned six blue ribbons and combined for 14 top-four finishes in the Great Allentown Fair‘s display contest. Students also won a fourth-place FFA Chapter Award for their competitive efforts at the 174th annual fair, which ran Sept. 2-7.

When students took a field trip to the fairgrounds on Thursday (Sept. 3), they had an opportunity to visit with Northwestern Lehigh High School Tigers Faith Smith and Tahlia Wagner, who competed in livestock contests at the fair. They showed cattle and sheep, respectively.

On Thursday evening, Smith, a senior in LCTI’s Veterinary Technology program, was presented with the Richard Miller Award. Named for a longtime Lehigh County Agricultural Society secretary, the award is a $250 scholarship given annually to an active FFA and 4-H member who excels academically.
