BLOOMSBURG, Pa. | Two Lehigh Career & Technical Institute teams placed among the top 20 at Thursday’s (March 23, 2023) Bloomsburg University Husky Dog Pound competition.

Husky Dog Pound is modeled after ABC’s popular reality TV series “Shark Tank.” Competitors from Pennsylvania middle schools and high schools, as well as Bloomsburg’s Zeigler College of Business, pitch their business ideas to would-be investors who award cash prizes. More than 500 students competed in the annual event.

LCTI’s Box Tech and Re-Work teams placed 13th and 15th, respectively, in the competition. Both teams, each comprised of four members from the Marketing & Entrepreneurship program, won $200.

The Box Tech team members are Aidan Beck, of Allentown Central Catholic High School, Julia Jachowicz, of Northern Lehigh High School, Josif Osmanovic, of Parkland High School, and Aubrey Webster, of Northwestern Lehigh High School. The Re-Work team members are William Allen High School students Jaydon Gonzalez, Jhelenny Tavarez, Sam Torres-Rivera and Chaunce Washington.

Husky Dog Pound attracted local media coverage and one of LCTI’s six participating teams, Temp-Lo, is featured in a WNEP-TV report about the competition. Temp-Lo’s members include Valeria Garcia-Lopez, of Louis E. Dieruff High School, DeAnthony Suarez, of Whitehall High School, and Jessica Dutan, of William Allen.

Kudos to all of the Husky Dog Pound competitors and congratulations to those who earned cash prizes.
