Slatington club names LCTI student ‘Girl of the Month’

Katelyn Verba is the Women’s Club of Slatington’s November Girl of the Month.

The Woman’s Club of Slatington has named Lehigh Career & Technical Institute student Katelyn Verba its November “Girl of the Month.” Her photo and profile are featured in the November issue of Blue Mountain Town & Country Gazette.

Verba, 17, is a Northern Lehigh High School senior enrolled in LCTI’s Emerging Health Professionals program.

Emerging Health Professionals is an intensive, dual-enrollment program designed to give students a head start on college and expose them to a variety of health care careers through job shadows, hands-on training and clinical study at medical facilities across the region.

It’s a great fit for Verba, who plans to become a registered nurse and work in a hospital emergency room. She’s also interested in pursuing a master’s degree in nursing, perhaps with a pediatric oncology specialty.

Congratulations, Katelyn! Keep up the good work!
