My name is Ms. Murray and I’m an Advertising Design/Commercial Art teacher at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute.
I have an associate’s degree in fashion illustration from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, a bachelor’s degree in drawing from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in career & technical education from Temple University.
I have over 20 years of graphic arts experience specializing in illustration for retail clients, manufacturers and advertising agencies, as well as product design development, photo styling and merchandising display. I implemented the graphic design of logos, brochures, display ads and newsletters for a variety of clients.
I conducted art activities for the Olivet Boys & Girls Club, coordinated and organized drawing studios for the Berks Art Alliance, designed and taught a fashion illustration class at Pennsylvania School of Art & Design and served as artist-in-residence for the printmaking program at Kutztown University.
I also spent six years as a Skills USA advisor and three years as an adjunct faculty member at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
Many of my fashion illustrations were featured in a publication called Retail Ad Week. I received awards for etchings exhibited in juried art shows. I travelled throughout Southeast Asia learning about the local art, history and culture. I’ve spent 22 years teaching and advising thousands of students at LCTI!
I love working with the students and enjoy teaching them about Advertising Design. I especially appreciate it when they use their skills in their chosen profession of graphic design, illustration and photography.
