LCTI students Faith Smith, left, and Olivia Wisser, right, are competing to be the fair queen.
ALLENTOWN — Two teenagers with ties to Lehigh Career & Technical Institute are among four contestants vying to be the 173rd Great Allentown Fair queen.
Faith Smith is a student in our Veterinary Technology program and Olivia Wisser is an Animal Sciences program alumna. They are competing with Cyani Gonzalez and Catalina Ocasio for the fair crown, according to the Lehigh Valley Press.
The queen’s coronation is set for Wednesday [Aug. 27, 2025] evening at Astound Broadband Farmerama Theater. The winner will receive a $1,500 scholarship provided by Lehigh-Northampton Pomona Grange No. 68 and the Allentown Fairgrounds Farmers Market.
Smith, 16, is a Northwestern Lehigh High School junior who recently began her first year in Veterinary Technology. The New Tripoli resident is an honor roll student and a Lehigh County 4-H Club member who shows beef cattle, including breeding cows and market steers.
Smith is an avid volunteer who supports children’s causes and helped prepare the fairgrounds for this year’s fair. She works at a horse farm, plans to attend Delaware Valley University after high school, and hopes to one day become a large animal veterinarian.
Wisser, is a Northwestern Lehigh graduate in the Class of 2025 who won LCTI’s Outstanding Senior Award for Animal Sciences. The New Tripoli resident is a past Lehigh County 4-H officer who won multiple titles at the 2024 Schnecksville Community Fair.
Wisser works at her family’s dairy farm, as well as a local horse farm. She plans to major in animal science at Penn State University and become a dairy farm herd manager. The 18-year-old recently won scholarships from the Lehigh County Conservation District and the Lehigh County Farm Bureau.
Good luck, Olivia and Faith! This is how we achieve! #weacheive
