Students win bronze, silver at SkillsUSA nationals

Three Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students won medals this summer at the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference in Atlanta.

Jestina Narvaez, a recent Southern Lehigh High School graduate who studied Print Technology/Graphic Imaging at LCTI, competed in the Graphic Communications contest and earned a bronze medal.

Colin Macaulay, a recent Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate who studied Heavy Equipment Operations & Preventive Maintenance at LCTI, competed in the Heavy Equipment contest and earned a silver medal.

Dominic Farzetta, a Souderton-area resident who completed LCTI’s adult education Heavy Equipment Operations program, competed in  the postsecondary Heavy Equipment contest and earned a bronze medal.

Narvaez, Macaulay and Farzetta were among 16 students from the Lehigh Valley who had an opportunity to compete at nationals after winning state titles in April.

SkillsUSA Council Executive Director Andy Hammer praised all of the competitors. He said, “Every student who attended represented our community with pride and demonstrated the technical excellence, professionalism, and work ethic that employers value. Their success is a direct reflection of the strong partnerships between education, business, and industry that make SkillsUSA possible.”

Congratulations, Jestina, Colin and Dominic! This is how we achieve! #WeAchieve
