SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Jed, an adorable 5-month-old red Labrador Retriever, spent Thursday afternoon training (and playing!) with students in the Veterinary Technology program at LCTI.

Sophie Rutherford, of Northwestern Lehigh High School, focused on “sit” with Jed. Later, Emmaus High School’s Sage Buckley-Petzoldt reinforced the command with a second round of practice.

Max Charles, a Whitehall High School student, practiced “spin and sit” with Jed. And Louis E. Dieruff High School’s Violeta Alvarado worked on the “paw” or “shake” command with Jed.

Shadé Pearsall, a William Allen High School student, and Southern Lehigh High School’s Shellie Dean teamed up for puppy playtime with Jed’s toys. An alligator stuffy that quacked like a duck proved to be his favorite.

Animal Sciences and Veterinary Technology teacher Regina Mento said Jed was a joy to have in the classroom. His owner,  LCTI secretary Jenny Trimmer, described her pup as happy but understandably exhausted at day’s end.
