Whitehall, Allen students qualify for FCCLA nationals

Two Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students qualified for nationals and four others medaled March 23-25 during the Pennsylvania FCCLA State Leadership Conference at Kalahari Resorts Poconos.

The national qualifiers are Emmaus High School’s Daniela Alarcon Alarcon and William Allen High School’s Genesis Beltre. Alarcon Alarcon is a senior in LCTI’s Culinary Arts and Academic Center programs; she won a silver medal in the Culinary Arts contest. Beltre is a senior in LCTI’s Commercial Baking and Academic Center programs; she won a silver medal in Baking and Pastry.

The other top finishers include:

  • Logan Brewster, a Whitehall junior in the Culinary Arts program, who earned a silver medal in Table Service.
  • Matthew Nakhlah, a Whitehall senior in the Culinary Arts program, who earned a silver medal in Food Innovations.
  • Luca Barreiros Alves, a Parkland High School senior in the Culinary Arts program, who earned a silver medal in Food Art.
  • Jenna Giedl, a Whitehall senior in the Commercial Baking program, who earned a silver medal in Cake Decorating.

The FCCLA National Leadership Conference is scheduled July 6-10 in Washington, D.C.
