Class of 2022: Emmaus senior wins top LCTI award

Nathan Servais holds his Outstanding Career & Technical Education Senior Award on stage at PPL Center.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. | The Outstanding Career & Technical Education Senior Award is Lehigh Career & Technical Institute’s most prestigious accolade. Students selected to receive it are the best of the best at LCTI.

One of this year’s two Outstanding Career & Technical Education Senior Award winners is Nathan Servais, an Emmaus High School student in the Supply Chain Management & Logistics Technology program. Director of Career & Technical Education Darin Van Norman honored Nathan on Tuesday (May 31, 2022) at PPL Center during the school’s Class of 2022 Senior Recognition Night.

Nathan’s teacher, Vicki Lynch, says Nathan went from shy and unsure to quietly confident as his technical prowess grew.

Today, he can operate every forklift in the school’s distribution center and has earned dozens of industry-recognized certifications. With a 100% average
for the year — thanks in part to perfect scores from co-op employer, Ryder Logistics — Nathan is the No.1 senior in his program.

He’s participated in LCTI’s DECA chapter since his freshman year and scored gold and third-place finishes at the Pennsylvania DECA Career
Development Conference this winter. Nathan also is a member of the National Technical Honor Society.

He’s a rifle team competitor at Emmaus and an avid volunteer at his church. Nathan plans to take a gap year so he can serve as a Christian
camp advisor before heading to college.
