ALLENTOWN — Lehigh Career & Technical Institute students dominated the FFA Displays contest at last week’s Great Allentown Fair.
Southern Lehigh High School sophomore Shellie Dean and Aeradin Glass, a Whitehall High School junior, teamed up and won first place. The trio of Louis E. Dieruff High School senior Violetta Alvarado Torres, William Allen High School senior Shadé Pearsall and Northwestern Lehigh High School junior Sophie Rutherford finished in second place.
Isabella Eck, an Emmaus High School sophomore, earned third place. And the duo of Northwestern Lehigh senior Madison Christman and Emmaus junior Kadence Yannotti finished in sixth place. Additionally, Shadé Pearsall won a $200 scholarship from the Allentown-Fair Lehigh County Agricultural Society.
All of the competitors are students in LCTI’s Veterinary Technology program.
Congratulations to our FFA competitors! This is how we achieve!
The Great Allentown Fair, in its 173rd year, also shone a spotlight on Northwestern Lehigh junior Faith Smith, another Veterinary Technology student, and Olivia Wisser, a Northwestern Lehigh alumna who completed LCTI’s Animal Sciences program in 2025.
The teenagers vied with two other young women — Cyani Gonzalez and Catalina Ocasio— for the title of Great Allentown Fair queen. Wisser came out on top. Her coronation was held on Wednesday, Aug. 27.
