LCTI’s work-based learners earned $948k in 2025-06

Nine students were honored for working 1,000 or more hours with their co-op employers.
SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Work-based learning is an important part of the curriculum at LCTI, and we’re proud of students who maximize their education through co-ops, internships, and job shadowing.
During the 2025-2026 school year, 125 students participated in co-ops, and there were 67 summer interns. An additional 158 students participated in the Diversified Career Occupations program, which provides students with employer-led career training unavailable at LCTI. Together, LCTI’s work-based learners logged 64,081 hours on the job and earned an impressive $948,450.
Nine students in the Class of 2026 worked more than 1,000 hours for their co-op employers. They are:
- Zach Lesher, an Emmaus High School graduate in the Auto Technology and Academic Center programs, logged 1,776 hours.
- Juelz Tua, a Louis E. Dieruff High School graduate in the Plumbing & Heating program, logged 1,550 hours.
- Randy Trapp, a Parkland High School graduate in the Small Engines/Recreational Vehicle Repair and Academic Center progras, logged 1,394 hours.
- Derrin Lamaze-Schuck, a Whitehall High School graduate in the Heating/Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and Academic Center programs, logged 1,324 hours.
- Timothy Finken, a Dieruff graduate in the Electrical Technology and Academic Center programs, logged 1,232 hours.
- Nathaniel Conrad, an Emmaus High School graduate in the Auto Collision Repair Technology and Academic Center programs, logged 1,192 hours.
- Jacob Whipple, a Parkland graduate in the Diesel Medium & Heavy Truck Technology and Academic Center programs, logged 1,123 hours.
- Lucas Werley, a Northwestern Lehigh High School graduate in the Welding Technology and Academic Center programs, logged 1,091 hours
- Chase Smith, a Parkland graduate in the Plumbing & Heating and Academic Center progams, logged 1,032 hours.
