LCTI students can get jump start on LCCC degree

Lehgih Carbon Community College campus in spring

Lehigh Carbon Community College’s main campus is in the Schnecksville section of Lehigh Carbon Community College.

SCHNECKSVILLE, Pa. — Students who complete one of 20 eligible programs at Lehigh Career & Technical Institute may qualify for a big head start on an associate degree from Lehigh Carbon Community College. Eligible programs include:

To qualify for 30 credits toward LCCC’s Applied Technical Studies (ATS) associate of applied science, students must earn an industry credential or participate in a career and technical student organization at LCTI. For example, a student who completed the Cosmetology program and earned a state-issued cosmetology license in the process would likely qualify, as would a student who completed the Computer Information Technology program and earned a CompTIA A+ certification.

The ATS is a 61-credit degree, so students who qualify for the 30-credit head would save at least a year of study and thousands of dollars on tuition. Plus, students may transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania.

LCTI alumni who recently graduated from high school may be eligible for a head start on the ATS, as well.
